I'm sure many of you prefer to get up and get out on those hot summer days that you have plans for. I, for one, loathe the thought of putting on a full face of makeup followed by standing blank faced in front of my closet without a clue of what to wear because let's face it, when it's hot, it's just too much to overthink. Even though I may have zero interest in contemplating what to wear, I do want to look chic and put together. I believe I've found what's worked for me in making that happen that help me look chic and feel put together without having to put too much effort, allowing me to get on with my day enjoying my summer plans. I hope you all had a great weekend and are off to a wonderful start to your week so far! 

It's been rather hot, humid and muggy, so I've been reaching for pieces that are easy to work with and are comfortable for the weather. Dresses and jumpsuits have been on heavy rotations and those in linen and silk fabrics have been my favorite especially. This silk shift dress I'm wearing has been my summer go-to for years now. You may remember it from my How to Wear a Dress as a Blouse With Pants post from a few years ago. It's one of these timeless classics, even though it's in a bold color.

So, as many of you know, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (also known as the #Nsale) early access opened to card holders yesterday. I personally don't have the credit card, but have the rewards card, which grants you the same access. If you shop at Nordstrom frequently or even quarterly, I think it's worth considering, especially during this time of year because the most popular items sell out fast! I can't tell you how many times I've kicked myself for not purchasing something I had been eyeing when it was available and ended up hunting it down and refreshing my browser countless times for it to be restocked. Don't go through this! If you love it, know you'll wear it, and it's within your set budget, get it!
