So, as many of you know, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (also known as the #Nsale) early access opened to card holders yesterday. I personally don't have the credit card, but have the rewards card, which grants you the same access. If you shop at Nordstrom frequently or even quarterly, I think it's worth considering, especially during this time of year because the most popular items sell out fast! I can't tell you how many times I've kicked myself for not purchasing something I had been eyeing when it was available and ended up hunting it down and refreshing my browser countless times for it to be restocked. Don't go through this! If you love it, know you'll wear it, and it's within your set budget, get it!
As you can see, I've broken up my top picks into categories, which will hopefully make your lives easier. I meticulously picked through each category, keeping a few things in mind when creating this post. First, I wanted to share items that I myself would wear and are true to my personal style. So, if you happen to like my style, you'd most likely love these pieces as much as I do!
Secondly, I choose pieces that are, for the most part, versatile. Pieces that can be worn to both the office and during the weekends. I think this is important to consider when shopping in general in order to get the most bang for your buck, even if you're shopping a sale. You don't want to purchase something just because it's on sale. You want to add pieces that are practical to your lifestyle needs and are, at the same time, a bit unexpected.
Office-wear and basics can get rather boring and if you already have the foundational pieces in your wardrobe, I think it's a great idea to add in pieces that are fun and fresh or have some sort of detail to spruce things up a bit. For example, #6 in the sweater category is a black sweater, but what makes it more than just a plain 'ol black sweater is the scalloped neckline. These little details can make all the difference and make getting dressed that much more exciting, especially if you have to wear one particular color to the office, such as black.
Now, when it comes to outerwear, which you already know by now is my obsession, once you have a solid colored natural, I think it makes perfect sense to add in fun colors, patterns, and textures. Why? Well, during the colder months, we're bundled up and therefore aren't able to showcase our fab outfits! So why not make a complete outfit by wearing a bold statement coat!? Plus, you'll stand out in the dreary crowd.
