Happy Friday, friends!
As mentioned on Monday, the weather here in New York is far from what's typical for spring, aside from the fact that it's been raining for the past couple of days, which of course is expected; you know the saying, "April showers bring May flowers." The thing is, it's been really cold, like 30 degrees cold! I shared some tips in Monday's post, "How to Exude Spring When Winter Won't Leave", which provides some really great ideas for putting together a cute and cozy spring outfit for the day. When it comes to weekend night celebrations, such as date night or girls' night, it can also be tricky! A really easy tip is to try adding a pastel or softer hue of your most loved color to your favorite black leather piece. The leather will not only provide warmth, but will also aesthetically coincide with the current awkward weather vibes you're experiencing. On Monday I suggested you opt for lighter spring-like leather colors and softer neutrals, such as white or grey, but since we're planning a night look, the darker neutrals would be best.
If you remember my post "Periwinkle" from a few weeks ago, I created a similar effect with some layering to my favorite periwinkle sweater. In that post, I mentioned that fusing both feminine pastels and leather pieces would create a perfect edgy look for a night out and today's outfit reinforces that effect. While this blouse may not necessarily be classified as a pastel, more like aqua, it works for this time of year because it's paired with leather jeans and a floral purse, which helps to lighten up the look a bit more. I think this would be a great idea for summer nights as well, just switch out the leather pant for a leather skirt or shorts!
Thanks so much for stopping by my dear friends, I hope you all have an amazing weekend and I'll see you back here on Monday morning with a new post!
XO,
