When it comes to finding bottoms that fit and flatter, we know that one size does not fit all because what works for one body shape, doesn't necessarily work for another, in most cases. However, there is one feature that's universally flattering and that's the placement and the amount of buttons on your piece. With vintage '70s fashion heavily influencing the latest designs, it's become easier now more than ever to access pieces that feature a single row of buttons, often accompanied with a high waist. They're often found in either jeans or skirts, but since we're approaching the warmer months, we'll focus on skirts! Styles that feature this combination, with a clean a-line shape and free of large sized or overlapped pockets, will instantly slim and flatter the midsection, while lengthening the legs and this all due to the (vertical) linear effect the design and placement visually creates. Remember, anything that causes the eye to move from top to bottom or vertically can produce both a slimming and lengthening effect. Pretty cool, right?!
