Happy Thursday my gorgeous friends!
Lately, I've been noticing a particular fabric that has been popping up everywhere in preparation for spring, satin! As shown above in the collage featuring pieces I'm personally loving, it's taken on many forms, from clothing to accessories, allowing it for it to be a subtle feature or the main focal point of your look.
I think it's a great fabric to consider as we begin to transition into spring and experience warmer weather because it's light weight and comfortable; it feels very light weight and soft against the skin. I, myself, own a couple of satin pieces, the most commonly worn and styled on the blog are a pair of trousers seen here and here. I love the liquid effect they have, which again, I feel is perfect and fitting for the warmer seasons. It's also a great play on the pajama trend, which is still going strong from last season, which we spoke about here, if you remember!
Lastly, I love the fact that it can make the most inexpensive piece appear rather expensive and lavish, since the fabric is often associated with luxury. I will say that based on personal experience, since it's rather light light weight and on the thin side, it can often reveal lumps and bumps, which you may not want to show through; I personally don't. What I typically do is wear some form of shape-wear underneath to help smooth everything out.
What are YOUR thoughts on satin, is it a fabric you're willing to try or have tried before? What's YOUR favorite piece(s) in the set above? Thanks so much for stopping by, my dear friends, and I hope your day is as amazing as YOU!
