Hello darlings!
One of my most favorite trends right now is neon combinations, especially neon yellow and pink! I think the two colors work extremely well together and can transition easily from day to night, mainly because pink is such a feminine color, and feminine colors work well in the day. Another trend that I absolutely love, which you may have already noticed, if you follow me on Fashiolista, is lace! Yet another trend that is perfect for spring and has been around for quite some time now, which I think is mainly because of its timeless elegance.
In the look that I created down below, you will notice that I didn't include a lot of jewelry pieces because I think since we are using such a bold color combination, too much jewelry can make the look appear overbearing. If I'm wearing a top or dress that has lace detailing on or around the neck, I typically wouldn't wear a necklace because I'd want to show the elegant neckline and detailing. But, if you feel that it would be a bit plain for you, I would suggest wearing a different color necklace, like blue or orange for some more fun! However, I do want to stress the importance of obtaining balance in a look which has so much color. I'm one who loves to balance out a look and I feel that the neon yellow earrings, belt, and shoes accomplished that. There's a touch of color from the very top, the middle, and the bottom. Lastly, I chose a clutch that had a neutral base color, since we have so much color going on in the look, again, I didn't want to overdo it. However, the pink detail down the middle, ties in well with the dress. I think it's very important when working with neons, that you have a neutral piece somewhere included in the look to help balance out the entire ensemble.
So where would I wear such a look, you might ask? I would wear this dress to a brunch or dinner date, as I mentioned earlier, the pink allows the look to be worn transitionally, from day to night, or either. I also want to note that bright colors in general look great against cooler skinned tones, extremely fair and darker skinned women. It gives the skin a nice glow and the colors look more vibrant, but of course anyone can have fun and explore the world of color!
Do you like to wear color? If so, do you typically wear just one piece or do you like to combine?
