Good morning all you hard working women!
Leather has been a huge trend for a while now, the most common is the skirt. I wanted to put together a look including a leather skirt, for those of you who like the trend, but are uncertain if it's wearable or appropriate for the office. Now, if you're asking the question, "is it appropriate?" my answer is, it all depends on how it's worn. Since leather can give both an edgy or sexy vibe, you want to be careful that neither come across in the work place. This is when the importance of pairing and styling comes in to play. In the look down below, I chose a brown leather skirt, since today is the first day of spring and browns and neutrals are perfect for the season. Another reason why I chose this color is because it helps shy away from appearing edgy or sexy in the office, which black or red can do. I chose to pair it with a crisp white peplum top to add some dimension to the upper portion of the body, while creating a small cinched waist. An important thing to note, is to never wear a peplum top with a flared or pleated skirt or wide waisted pants, it will make your hips appear large(r). As for the jewelry, I chose turquoise because I love the way it looks combined with whites and browns, it gives off a very earthy bohemian vibe, which screams spring! The shoes also tied in well with the overall theme, because of the beaded detailing and stone accents.
So what's the verdict?! I say office approved!
