Hello Beauties!

I hope you all are having a relaxing Sunday and preparing for this work week!

For this week's date night, Eddie and I went to a Jamaican place that we recently noticed. It's a local place that we have driven by every day, but had no idea that it was a Jamaican restaurant, since it didn't give off a Caribbean vibe, which I believe is one of their downfalls. I mean, the food was great, as you can tell from the photos, but the decor was everything short of Caribbean. Eddie and I discussed this for a bit while enjoying our meal. We just couldn't understand why the owner wouldn't try to encompass the nice relaxing and soothing vibes of the country; their color scheme was black and white, with gorgeous white flower light fixtures, but again, had nothing to do with the culture. I don't know about you guys, but when I go to an ethnic restaurant, I want when I walk through those front doors to feel as though I just stepped off a plane into whatever country that the food is to represent or be inspired by in some way, it makes it a more enjoyable and fulfilling experience, wouldn't you say? Nonetheless, the food was wonderful, from the appetizers straight down to the dessert. It was everything you would expect an authentic Jamaican dinner to be, with an unusual twist here and there, like their jerk chicken spring roles, which were extremely delicious, for example.

APPETIZER: Jerk Chicken Spring Rolls

APPETIZER: Coconut Shrimp

EDDIE'S DINNER: Dutch Fried Chicken with rice and "peas" with a side of macaroni & cheese (which we shared)

MY DINNER: Oxtail with steamed veggies

DESSERT: Jamaican Black Cake

As for my outfit, I wanted to wear these extremely comfortable polka dotted leggings I bought yesterday at Marshall's. They honestly felt as though I was wearing pajamas, which of course made it more comfortable for me while over indulging in the delicious food I was eating. This look is perfect for all you pear and rectangular shapes, since the blouse adds some volume and dimension to the area where you are the smallest, the bust.
