Happy hump day, lovelies!

Wow, can you believe that it's already Wednesday and that October is nearly over?! It's crazy how fast time is flying and as it continues to move rapidly, the temperatures begin to drop lower and lower (who's ready for snow?! NOT me!). While we aren't in need of our heavier wool coats as of yet, we certainly need something to keep us warm on most days, especially in the evenings and the trench coat does the job perfectly! It's light enough that you're not boiling up, but heavy enough to keep you warm and because of this, I consider it a wardrobe staple. When it comes to staple pieces, I generally suggest investing in neutrals to ensure you'll get the most bang for your buck in frequent usage, but after you've invested in a basic neutral, don't hesitate to experiment with other options that provide a dose of color, pattern or both! During the cooler months, we aren't able to show off our fabulous pairings and while they're kept hidden under out jackets, why not have something over it that would make just as much of an impact, if not more!

All of my trench coats are double breasted, which I've found to be the most flattering style for rectangular, pear and hourglass shapes. The reason is that the double breasted feature adds dimension to the upper body, which works well for these three shapes. I often suggest that double breasted styles are avoided by apple and inverted triangle shapes, which tend to be more busty than the other three mentioned (lucky, haha!), because the added dimension that the double breast provides can make one appear a bit heavier, especially when a scarf is added. Instead, I suggest single columns. Of course these are suggestions and at the end of the day, I always suggest that you wear what you feel most comfortable and confident in!

I hope you found this post helpful and inspirational! Are you loving orange and red together as much as I am this season?! These two are one of my favorite color combinations this time of year :)

Have an amazing day, my friends, and I'll see you back here at the same time tomorrow!
