SUNGLASSES | BLAZER: Similar | TANK: Similar | SHORTS: loving these | SHOES

Happy Wednesday friends!

There's a handful of patterns that typically come to mind at the mention of summer and gingham is one of them. It's such a classic pattern that can lend itself to preppy styles, as well as playful summer vibes and because of this, it's easy to transition your gingham summer pieces into the fall and winter in more professional settings. As you can see, I've paired these gingham shorts with a classic black blazer, which adds a more serious tone to the look.

Though my shorts are black and white, you could still wear your gingham piece in the fall or a more professional environment if yours are pastel or in a fun color. When it comes to pastel, my suggestion would be to opt for a blazer in a darker color of the pastel (ie pastel yellow, opt for mustard yellow) or opt for navy. I wouldn't personally wear clear sandals in a professional setting, in which case I'd suggest a shoe closer to your skin tone or classic black.

What if you have a gingham dress or blazer; no shorts? You could still apply my suggestions, but tweaked a bit. For instance, you can opt for a darker shoe color alternative to the pastel. For a blazer, opt for a darker bottom. Basically the reverse of what I've suggested in styling the shorts.

Who doesn't like the idea of owning pieces that are versatile and can be dressed up or down?! I hope this post gave you some inspiration for styling your summer gingham in a different way(s).

Do you own any gingham? What are some of your favorite ways to style it?

Thanks for stopping by, my friends, and I look forward to seeing you all on Friday!
