So as many of you working ladies, on all levels, know, it is almost imperative to have an everyday purse. One that's practical and trendy at the same time, after all, you will be wearing it all the time, so you want it to look good and go with most, if not all of your wardrobe! So let's start off with the basic "must haves" that these bags should offer you, at least in my humble opinion.
1. For starters, I would suggest investing in a medium-high quality purse. Since you'll be wearing the purse everyday, it's important that it can handle the intense wear and tear of every day life, especially if you're a commuter. I commuted to the heart of NYC for well over a year for school and work and taking trains, buses, and walking can truly effect your purse's condition. New Yorkers are aggressive, time sensitive people. Everything is quick and fast paced and people will knock you down to catch their train or bus, of course not intentionally, lol! Even though you're environment may not be as intense as a commute to NYC, you still want something that is sturdy.
2. Next, I would strongly suggest purchasing a neutral color, which won't show dirt or residue easily, such as black, navy, dark brown, a darker camel, or a monogram print in a dark base color (these are great because the pattern will distract from any scuffs or dirt on the surface).
3. Definitely consider a purse that's multifunctional. Meaning, it offers variety in the way you can wear it and doesn't restrict you to just one style. This comes in handy if you many need to travel on business and have luggage and suitcases that you also need to carry. A purse with a large arm strap will definitely be of great assistance. This however, isn't an absolute necessity for every woman.
4. Lastly, I would say that size matters! You want a purse that is roomy enough to carry your makeup, girly things (read in between the lines ;), keys, a smart device or two (ipad, iphone, laptop, etc.) and papers that you may need to carry around (so true if you're an attorney!).
