Happy Hump Day, Ladies!
This week we are working with a leather skirt. Now I've mentioned in previous posts that leather skirts are one of those pieces that can be a bit sexy for the office, so you have to be very careful in the way you style and pair them. As you can see, I chose to work with a cobalt blue blazer, which as you know I'm obsessed with this season. I think this color makes for an appropriate color combination with the black leather, since it's an elegant, versatile, and a jeweled toned color. I would avoid pairing it with more vibrant colors, such as bright red or even exotic prints, like animal print, to again, prevent the look from appearing sexy.
Remember, the office is a place where you want to maintain your professionalism and your work ethic alone doesn't cover it. Your appearance is also influential in the way you are viewed and valued as an employee, whether you realize it or not. Which is why I keep stressing the importance of avoiding looks that can appear a bit provocative, since that can downgrade your reputation as one who can be a valuable and presentable representation for the company you work for, big or small!
