Hey Guys!

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to attend Khombu's Holiday in the Sun event hosted by Red Light PR. At the event, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Brandy McCarty, who is the divisional vice president of Khombu's global brand strategies. He was a pleasure to speak with and gave me some more insight of the brand, which I had previously been familiar with. Khombu is an adult and children's footwear brand that initially launched as a winter active sports boot line in 1969. The name originated from the Khombu Valley near the base of Mt. Everest, demonstrating it's close origins and inspirations from the outdoors, specifically locations with cooler climates. As a result, all of their footwear provides waterproof and water-friendly protection. However, it has since evolved into a functional, fashionable, and affordable all year, four-season, brand. Although certain models have more advanced features to accommodate the intended use in location and activity, all models contain a memory technology component for all day comfort.

If you enjoy skiing (which by the way Khombu is an official supplier to the U.S. Ski Team!),

I want you to know that their boots are extremely durable and feature sure-grip outsoles, which provide traction, to ensure protection against slipping while on the slopes! Some models also include Thermolite® technology, a material and concept that provides insulation even in the most intense and frigid temperatures, all the way below 20 degrees! One of those boots that feature this technology is the one Brandy is holding in the photos we took together, which will soon be available at Bloomingdales for $80! How chic are they?! Now although I've personally never been skiing before, I've spoken to people who have and one thing they all say is that the equipment, including boots, are extremely expensive. With Khombu, all of their boots and styles are well under $200 and will last you many years and uses!

Again, Khombu provides functional footwear to those of us who do not participate in outdoor winter sports, as well as those who do. Here are some photos of the boots that were featured and displayed at the event that are designed for every day use. How cute are they?! I'm definitely a fan of their boots and intend on purchasing a pair for myself in the future!

WOMEN'S COLLECTION:

One of my favorite boots from the women's collection is the Quechee Snakeskin boot which retails for $120, from their fall 2014 collection.

MEN'S COLLECTION:

I love these for Eddie. They would look great on a cold day with a nice cozy zip-up sweater and jeans!

CHILDREN'S COLLECTION:

WHAT I WORE:

I wanted to wear something light and airy, since it was a rather hot day in the city. I just recently purchased these oxford shoes from TjMaxx and wanted to wear them, so I thought they would look super cute paired with a refreshing combination of mint green and white, with a pop of orange. As you've heard me mention before, us pear shapes are bottom heavy, so when wearing white pants, which will highlight our lower portion, it would be ideal to pair it with a flowy top. If it has embellishments and a nice color, it helps enhance the interest being placed on up top as well ;)
