Happy first Monday of the New Year, beauties!
How was your weekend? I hope you all had a great one; mine was full of running errands and cleaning out my phone and laptop. Who else likes to get their home and work areas cleaned, ready and prepped when starting a new year?
Well, it's finally starting to feel more like winter around here, it's currently in the 30's and a bit windy. I'm partially happy about the dip in temps because I can finally break out this red coat that I love so much! I, of course, wanted to wear it during the holidays, but it was in the 60s and 70s nearly everyday, so yeah, that didn't happen, haha! What I love about colorful coats is that they provide options and I'm a girl who loves options. I can either wear it with an all black or grey look, allowing it to serve as my pop of color or I can be more creative and color block with other colors in my outfit. I also love belted coat styles, like this one, because I find them to be more figure flattering for all body shapes, as they help to re-establish the waistline, which can easily get lost in the heavy fabric of a coat. Now, for this particular pairing, I decided to go for a more neutral color palette to allow for the coat to be more of a statement. I love the way cherry red looks with charcoal grey and when there's some black involved, I feel like it creates a bit of a mod feel, especially with the buckle details on both the coat and boots!
