Hello Beauties!

This week, we went to a restaurant that we've gone to many times. They've become so successful that they've expanded to other locations, so we decided to try one of their newest spots. Honestly, if I were to compare this one to the mother restaurant, the mother is 100x better, but that is usually the case with practically anything. I also noticed that they had a slightly different menu than the other location, one that I wasn't too crazy about. Although this one had a lot of Malaysian infused flare, I felt they could've done better with their dishes. That being said, I wasn't too fond of my entrée and Eddie felt his was rather bland. The appetizers, I felt were the best part of the dinner. Since we're pretty much familiar with the type of desserts this restaurant serves, which we don't really like, we walked to an Italian bakery up the street and had dessert there instead.

APPETIZER: Shrimp steamed dumplings

APPETIZER: Shrimp tempora

EDDIE'S ENTRÉE: Steamed Chilean Sea Bass

MY ENTRÉE: Malaysian curry chicken

DESSERT: Mixed Italian pastries

To be honest, I had no clue what I was going to wear until the very last minute, which Eddie would say happens most of the time, but I would have to beg to differ (smiles). I began to ponder a bit and thought of this look that I think came together rather nicely. The houndstooth pattern worked well with the vibrant blue and the pop of pink on my lips and necklace. To tone down the otherwise loud look, I opted for my favorite black leather booties.

I actually think this look would work well on all the body shapes, since we have some interest going on throughout the entire look. The blouse is not tight or conforming at all, which is great for all you apple shapes, plus the vibrant blue draws the eye downwards. While the volume on the top works well for the apple shape, it also does wonders for the pear and rectangular shapes, creating that much needed volume, which was further enhanced by tucking in the front of the blouse.

So what do you think? Would you try this color and pattern combination yourselves?
